One Punch Reviews #5: The Abominable Charles Christopher

One Punch Reviews returns with a reasonably short take on a webcomic about a yeti that’s so ugly, he’s kinda cute: “The Abominable Charles Christopher.”

The Abominable Charles Christopher

Take one yeti/Sasquatch, an alcoholic bird, skunks who love to advertise their stuff with an enthusiastic thumbs up, and a mystical, godlike moon bear? One of the most refreshing webcomics I’ve ever read. “The Abominable Charles Christopher,” by Karl Kerschl, stars a yeti with an egg-shaped head who I assume is named “Charles Christopher,” judging from the title. He hasn’t been called by that name in the comic yet. Charles is a big, bumbling idiot who despite looking like Powers Boothe, acts like a big, mute baby. Heck, he even had a big pacifier that he likes to suck on. There’s some mystery that Charles is embroiled in regarding woodland spirits and encroaching hunters. It’s sure to factor into the plot later. Right now, though, it’s all about a bunch of critters partying their tails off. And, despite his fearsome appearance, all of them seem to see Charles as a pretty nice guy. And why not? He’s such a sweetheart! The artwork is astounding. The character designs look like the real animals they’re based on, yet doesn’t skimp on facial expressions and body language. And, God, the detail! “The Abominable Charles Christopher” is an enjoyable read thus far, and the content is clean enough for your kids to check out. After all, what kind of kids don’t like animals? Commie kids, that’s what. Rating 5/5.

About El Santo

Somehow ended up reading and reviewing almost 300 different webcomics. Life is funny, huh? Despite owning two masks, is not actually a luchador.
